Safety Standards, Materials Used and Production

  • We are very proud to say we are the only breast pump brand which that is 100% designed and made in New Zealand.
  • Yes our products meet standards locally and internationally.
  • Being a team of Kiwis who have been working in the industry for many years, we’ve seen it all when it comes to product development and the different facilities and standards out there, especially when it comes offshore manufacturing. New Zealand-made was an obvious choice when creating New Edition NZ as we wanted to not only contribute to our New Zealand economy and export, but we wanted to ensure that what we’re promising to our customers is what we deliver. We do this by being able to quality control our manufacturing and production, since they are of course, just down the road.
  • Yes, absolutely, and we have this displayed on our packaging and website. Click here for more information.
  • We have chosen to work with Momentive Performance Materials. Momentive manufacturing is ISO 2001:2015 certified facility and globally accredited. We use Silopren LSR 2670 THHV for our products. This silicone is a food-grade silicone which is made from the same raw material as medical supplies.
  • Our manufacturer makes other high-end silicone products for the Food and Medical Industry, also the Animal Health Industry which all carry incredibly high standards and processes.
  • We manufacture our products in Hamilton, New Zealand.
  • Absolutely, we only use top facilities and pride ourselves on being able to take you on a tour of how we make our products. Click here for a video and images of our products being made.
  • All our products are made in a trusted, tested and proven facility which meets ISO 9001:2015 standards. Every product manufactured by our team has a dedicated Master Tool Folder and before any product is given the ‘Green Flag’ for production, sign-off must be given. Our machines are hand operated by an operator who is trained, and two hourly In-Process QC checks are conducted to ensure products are within specification and quality is maintained. Before any product is released, a QC audit must be completed and retained for reference. Click here for a video tour and images of our products being made.
  • We are committed to supporting other New Zealand businesses, so our packaging is also proudly made in New Zealand. All our packaging is 100% recyclable and made with non-toxic dyes. Remember, not all packaging is created equal and just because it looks like cardboard, doesn’t mean it’s recyclable. Anything which includes a foil interior, etc., cannot be recycled.
  • We are 100% committed to only creating packaging and marketing materials that are needed by our customers and products to minimise our waste footprint. Our instructions are printed on our recyclable packaging and also displayed on our website along with all other information. All that extra stuff might look flash, but it ends up in landfill at the end of the day and we are not about that.
  • Our warehouse and team are all located in New Zealand, meaning our products are on hand to our customers locally as soon as they are manufactured.
  • We are located in Hobsonville, Auckland. Our showroom is also located here so you are more than welcome to pop in and visit us. Message us at info@ggc.nz or 0800 LET DOWN if you would like to meet our team.
  • We want to help you be responsible for your products from start to finish. Ensuring we can provide a recycling option to you is something we are passionate about. We are currently looking to partner with another New Zealand company to create a take-back program for all our products. Because, as we said before, we are not about landfill here.
  • Recycling, reusing and paying it forward are at the core of what we do. Our New Edition NZ team is working to partner with NZ charities to pass used Pumpd Pumps onto those who need them. If you would like to be involved in this initiative, please reach out to us at info@ggc.nz or 0800 LET DOWN.

Pumpd Questions

  • Not to worry, we sell replacements lids for our Pumpd Pumps. Simply click here.
  • Cleaning your Pumpd Pump is simple. As our products are made from high-grade silicone, you simply wash your pump in warm, soapy water and boil for 2-3 minutes in boiling water to sterilise. Click here for more of our cleaning instructions.
    • Milton’s and other similar sterilising tablets are made from bleach which reacts with silicone products. Milton’s can cause your pumps to cloud and change the colour and shape. We do not recommend using these tablets or solutions on our products. Click here for more of our cleaning instructions.
    • As each woman and their supply are different, results from our Pumpd Pump can vary. This can be due to many reasons and outside of our control. Click here for more of our tip and trips to encourage a letdown. If you are still having trouble please contact our team at info@neweditionnz.co.nz or 0800 LET DOWN, we are here to help.
    • As with any product, silicone becomes softer and wears out over time the more it is sterilised and boiled. If your pump still has a great suction and is working great, there is no need to replace your pump.
    • Yes, our Pumpd flange is designed to fit all breast sizes and shapes.
    • Breast milk can be stored in your Pumpd Pump at room temperate for up to 4 hours with your silicone lid attached to prevent contamination. We do not recommend storing breast milk in your pump in the fridge. Once ready to store your milk in either the fridge or freezer, simply transfer your expressed milk into a clean/sterile container and clean your pump. Breast milk can be stored in your fridge for 48 hours and your freezer for up to 6 months (separate door freezer). Click here for more information about breastfeeding. Click here for more breastfeeding advise.
    • Although silicone is dishwasher safe, we recommend washing your Pumpd Pump in warm soapy water before sterilising, then leave to dry completely upside down. Dishwashers contain many food particles, and these can attach to your pump which can cause irritations and infections to your nipple. Bright colours, e.g. carrot, pumpkin, and tomato, can also dye the silicone of your pump, leaving you with a pink or brown pump.
    • We always suggest sterilising your products once finished with boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Once clean and dry, store away with your Pumpd Pump Lid attached to prevent contamination.
    • Each woman and her body/sensitivity are different, and it may take a few attempts to figure out what suction strength works best for you and your body. If you feel your Pumpd Pump is putting too much pressure on your nipple, simply release some suction by releasing a small amount of air and reattach your pump. Additionally, ensure your nipple is sitting in the neck of the pump and not rubbing against the silicone. Breasts can be tender at the best of times and during breastfeeding that tenderness is heightened. If releasing pressure and repositioning your pump does not work, please reach out to our team at info@neweditionnz.co.nz or 0800 LET DOWN.
    • Your Pumpd Pump should not cause you any pain, but as breasts and bodies go through so many changes during pregnancy and birth, your breasts and breast tissue can become tender and sensations heightened. Try releasing some air from your pump when on your breast, or removing and repositioning your pump on your breast, ensuring your nipple is in the neck of your pump and not rubbing against the silicone. Additionally, using your pump after a warm shower or bath when your skin is relaxed and soft will help remove any tension/pulling on your skin. However, if you experience sharp shooting pain, or pain that is not improving after trying the above tips, we suggest calling your medical professional or GP as breast/nipple pain can be the early signs of mastitis or other breastfeeding complications. We are not doctors here at New Edition NZ and would never want to give you the wrong advice when it comes to your supply.
    • No, not at all. You can use your Pumpd Pump in all sorts of situations. However, a lot of women like to use their pump when feeding from the other breast to collect let down which otherwise would have been lost into a breast pad.
    • To manually use your Pumpd Pump, simply place the flange of the pump over your nipple without applying suction and squeeze the base of the pump. Squeeze the pump over your nipple manually for a minute or two, or until your breast lets down. Then simply attach your pump to your breast and leave the pump to do the work. Sanitising Questions

    • Our products use unique, advanced technology, and are applied by a mist, spray or foam. Once dry, our New Edition NZ sanitising range resembles a layer of microscopic pins that attract, pierce and kill pathogens, the same principle as a pin popping a balloon, and in the same manner that the burst balloon cannot be reformed, neither can the pathogens. This means no resistance and no superbugs! Unlike traditional sanitisers that kill bacteria by poison or high alcohol content, New Edition NZ is a food-safe, water-based surface sanitiser applied as a mist then allowed to dry.
    • Once applied to your skin and dry, you are protected for 24 hours.
    • You only need to apply our hand sanitiser once every 24 hours to your skin. It is not until natural exfoliation occurs that Zoono will wear off and needs to be reapplied. We suggest for children to spray their hands each morning before preschool/school etc.
    • Yes, our solution is activated and bonded once it is dry.
    • New Edition NZ sanitising and surface sprays have been tested against over 100 known diseases. These include E.coli, Pseudomonas spp, Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA, Norovirus, Aspergillus Niger and extremely pathogenic viruses such as Ebola. For a full list of tests and their results please reach out to us at info@ggc.nz or 0800 LET DOWN.

    • Yes, absolutely. New Edition NZ sanitisers and other products do not contain harmful chemicals and, as a liquid, it is less toxic than vitamin C and coffee. Our products are also water-based.
    • New Edition NZ products conform to regulations from around the world and have passed PAS 2424, EN13697, EN1276, EN1650 amongst many more antimicrobial efficacy tests. Testing in accredited laboratories includes New Zealand, Australia, UK, Germany, USA, Turkey, South Africa and Japan.
    • New Edition NZ sanitising products use purified, deionised water and an antimicrobial compound. While our Quaternary Ammonium compound originates from natural sand, the process is synthetic.
    • Yes, absolutely. Not only have our products passed extensive testing, you can conduct your own tests via an ATP device. ATP is a globally accepted method of testing for pathogenic presence and is commonly used in all major food and beverage production facilities. We also conduct these tests ourselves on all our products.
    • Yes, our sanitisers have been extensively tested in Germany on a range of all skin types from old to young, different ethnicities and sensitivities.
    • No, we use zero fragrance on all of our products and do not hide any chemicals. What you see is what you get.
    • No, we use zero Phenoxyethanol for all of our products.
    • No, our products do not contain alcohol, which means they are safe around babies, children and pets. Having no alcohol in our products means your hands and skin will not be left feeling dry from daily use.
    • In the highly unlikely situation you have a reaction to our products, discontinue use and please reach out to our team at info@ggc.nz or 0800 LET DOWN.
    • No, our products do not contain alcohol, which means they are safe around babies, children and pets. Having no alcohol in our products means your hands and skin will not be left feeling dry from daily use.
    • Yes, absolutely. Our sanitisers do not inhibit the normal function of your skin and allow your skin to breath normally. Our sanitisers simply bond an antimicrobial layer to the surface of your skin which is naturally removed by exfoliation during the day.
    • While there are no official recommendations for cleaning car seats out there, there are definitely suggestions which we also agree with as a brand. Water and soft cleaning materials are suggested, which is what our products are. Our products are tested and proven to not react with materials or fabrics and only sits on the surface of materials, surfaces and skin – which is how our technology works. Our New Edition NZ sanitisers are made of mostly water, with an active ingredient in such a low dose there is no risk. Our technology is also used by Air Bus and Boeing and sprayed on their seats, including seat belts.

We do suggest however, to not spray directly on buckles or clips and allow to dry before using. Also apply a mist lightly over the car seat and do not drench your seat and straps till they are wet.
